Uncontested elections will add 2 new trustees
2014 General Assembly will elect four trustees and a financial advisor.
The Rev. Rob Eller-Isaacs was elected to a one-year term on the board in June 2013. He is co-minister of Unity Church–Unitarian in St. Paul, Minn. His interests include policy governance, program evaluation, racial healing, collaborative leadership, and prophetic community. He is a founder of, and consultant with, Unity Consulting, which works with leaders of progressive congregations and related organizations.
Susan Weaver, an attorney, was also elected in June 2013 for one year. She is a former president of First UU Church of San Diego and serves on the board of the UU Justice Ministry of California.
Christina Rivera is director of religious education at the UU Fellowship of Waynesboro, Va., and has also served on its governing board. She is a certified interim religious education professional and she has worked extensively in marketing, information technology, and project management.
The Rev. Andy Burnette is senior minister of the Valley UU Congregation of Chandler, Ariz. Previously he served a small congregation in Indiana where he was active in marriage-equality advocacy. In Arizona he is engaging in immigration reform efforts. He also has a passion for antiracism work.
Lawrence Ladd, a member of First Church in Boston, was named financial advisor in 2013 to fill a partial term. He is a candidate to serve another two years. He served previously as financial advisor from 1997 to 2005. He is director of the national higher education practice for Grant Thornton LLP, a financial services firm.
