Artist Martyl Langsdorf has been painting since she was 12. In 1947, she designed the "Doomsday Clock" for the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists, showing the minute hand nearing midnight. She is a lifelong UU and member of the Unitarian Church of Evanston, Illinois; one of her murals hangs on the south wall of the church sanctuary.
