UU Animal Ministry is proud to reinstate its Albert Schweitzer sermon contest. The $500 prize will be awarded in early 2020 to the person who has delivered the best sermon on the topic of our responsibilities to nonhuman animals. Please let your minister and lay speakers know!
The sermon must have been delivered between September 1, 2018, and December 31, 2019, during a worship service at a UU community or congregation.
Please send your manuscript or notes, with your name listed only on the cover page, and an audio or video recording if you'd like, to info [at] uuam [dot] org by January 31, 2020. If possible, please include an Order of Service for context. By entering the contest, you grant UUAM permission to use excerpts of your submission (with attribution) to create a new worship resource.
Women, People of Color, LGBTQ people, and differently-abled people are especially encouraged to apply.
There's still time to get this topic onto sermon calendars, so please help spread the word. If you have questions about the contest, send a message to info [at] uuam [dot] org. (2/15/20)
