For General Assembly 2026, the UUA is creating a “together everywhere” experience by combining a fully online format with optional, in-person gathering sites.

This new format offers UUs flexibility in how to participate, reducing travel costs and environmental impacts while also streamlining production, and allowing live engagement for participants who value being in community face to face.

Unlike a typical virtual or multiplatform year, the “together everywhere” GA introduces three distinct phases:

GA Part I: Business

Sunday, June 14 will be dedicated to UUA business. General Sessions will be fully virtual to support the broadest possible engagement opportunities for delegates.

Mid-Week: Break

The business ends on Tuesday evening, and attendees may use the mid-week to participate in activities sponsored by others—such as identity groups, professional organizations, congregations, or sponsors—and to enjoy content featured in the GA app’s on-demand library. It can also be a time for rest and renewal or for traveling to closing weekend activities.

GA Part II: Programming

GA’s closing weekend is Friday, June 19. For Part II, in addition to the fully virtual experience, GA will expand the options for participation to include optional in-person gatherings. Registrants can participate at a “studio site” in Louisville, Kentucky, which will be home base for recording and streaming, or at UUA co-hosted satellite locations.

Congregations may also host their own gatherings and engage members with live or recorded content, aided by a facilitator guide or host kit from Meet the Moment program coordinators. All online and onsite participants will engage with the same virtual program content, with breakout discussion opportunities varying by location. Synergy and Service of the Living Tradition will be on hiatus until GA 2027.
