Sheltering LGBT youth. The Unitarian Church in Summit, New Jersey raised nearly $7,000 for a local organization that runs a shelter for homeless LGBT young people. (NJ.com, 2.3.16)
Preventing violence. The UU Community Church of Augusta, Maine, is partnering with the Family Violence Project to help people in their community, especially children, learn to recognize violence and speak up about it. (CentralMaine.com, 2.1.16)
