Spring/Summer 2025 – Vol. XXXIX – No. 1

About Our Cover

For this issue’s cover, photojournalist Ilene Perlman (ileneperlman.com) brought the traditional UUA General Assembly Tree of Life chalice—designed by UU Mordecai Roth—out into the greater world. The image speaks quite literally to the theme, “New Horizons for a Living Tradition,” with a stretching sky representing the future, the horizon of today’s city in the mid-distance, and the bold visual of the chalice representing the living tradition itself.
